P.J. Family Day Care is recognized as a partner in promoting a safe,
secure, educational and enjoyable environment for children through
its work with assisting other child care agencies to strengthen their
program and infrastructure.
We have worked with the following provider
programs:
- Precious Jewels Childcare, Hyde Park, MA
- Anis Family Child Care, Mattapan, MA
- M & M with a G Family Daycare, Mattapan, MA

In promoting the highest quality of care for children, ensuring that
they continuously receive proper care and attention, we provide information
to parents and refer them to organizations such as:
- Family Nurturing Program
- Boston Medical Center
- Dorchester House
- American Diabetes Center
- Massachusetts Department of Social Services

Transition means taking time to prepare the children to take the next
step to move on to a larger setting such as K-1 or first grade. We
teach workshops that help parents and providers understand how to
help reduce anxiety and prepare the child for adjustment in a new
setting.

As a successful
licensed childcare professional for nearly three decades and Mother
of four children, eight grand children and one grandson, I believe
that:
- Young children deserve careful attention to every
aspect of their physical, social, and cognitive development.
- Each child comes to a childcare
environment with a unique set of defining characteristics, including
family background, abilities, temperament, and learning style. Therefore,
they need a care giver who actively promotes a positive outcome for
children through thoughtful assessment, well implemented curriculum
and effective teaching practices.
- Children are our future and thus I
treat them with the potential that I see for them as Presidents and
First Ladies so that they will continue to believe that they can
grow up to be anything they want to be.
- Young children’s learning and
development are integrally connected to their families. Therefore,
to support and promote children’s
optimal learning development, PJ Family Day Care recognizes the primacy
of children’s families based on mutual trust, respect, support,
and involvement of families in their children’s educational
growth.
- Positive
self-esteem should be reinforced at an early age. For
this reason, the class room is designed to develop and reinforce
confidence and most importantly for the children to feel good about
themselves in their self-directed play.
- All early childhood
educators must have a good education in order to implement even the
most basic values and skills to children.
- I believe that I am that kind of person
because I care. When
my days of providing care for young children are over the consistent
thing that people will say of me is, "She cared."
